FORTHCOMING EVENTS - 2023

Readings 

Saturday 4th March

Quinton Methodist Church, Ridgway Avenue, B62 9AU

In preparation for our annual outing, our readings this year will

explore the lives and works of some of the great creative minds of

the 18 th century as revealed by Francis Brett Young.


Cost: to include tea/coffee and biscuits £5 per person


Exhibition - May-June

Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm

Dudley Archives

Tipton Rd, Dudley DY1 4SQ

(adjacent to Black Country Living Museum)

After the imposed gap of Covid restrictions, the Society will once

again be staging an exhibition of FBY’s life and works as previously

shown in Worcester Cathedral, Tewkesbury Abbey, Elan Valley

Visitors’ Centre and other venues. Don’t miss this fascinating display

which will fill the whole of Dudley Archives’ exhibition space.

Depart from car park, Quinton Methodist Church 9.45am

[PLEASE PARK ON THE TOP CAR PARK]

11am arrival - tea/coffee & shortbread in tea room

11.30/45am 45minute guided tour of Wedgwood factory

12.30/45pm free time to visit world famous Victoria & Albert

Museum Wedgwood Collection

2.30pm Wedgwood Afternoon Tea - a delightful array of favourite

sandwiches, freshly baked cakes, fancies and fluffy scones amongst

other delicious treats, served upon Wedgwood fine bone china.

Includes a pot of Wedgwood English Breakfast tea.

4.00pm depart Wedgwood for our return journey to Quinton.

AGM

Refreshments will be served and our AGM held in a private room of

this moated medieval and Elizabethan manor house in the hamlet of

Harvington, the civil parish of Chaddesley Corbett and the county of

Worcestershire. Famed for its priest holes, Harvington Hall was the

inspiration for FBY’s moated manor house, White Ladies.
